Most entities don’t have the full suite of financial expertise they would like to have in-house. Traditionally it’s expensive to hire asset managers and so capital sits idle and less optimised.
Robo-Managers allows those with trading and execution expertise to co-manage capital with Salt users without taking custody of those assets.
A Robo-Manager sits inside Salt accounts and can transact on the owner’s behalf but only within the guardrails set up by the owner. Owners can be asleep, on flights or otherwise not watching the market. The Robo-Manager is there acting on their behalf direct in wallet.
Some Robo-Managers are simple bots that programmatically execute a task (e.g. monitor the price of ETH and buy if it dips below $2800). Others may do more sophisticated automations such as bridging, swapping and splitting liquidity across trading venues. Another example is yield hunting, an expertise that most people don’t have in-house.
