Using Salt

To create an Organisation on Salt, you’ll need a browser wallet.

To create an Account, you’ll need enough Ethereum bridged to Arbitrum to pay gas fees.

To fully make use of Salt, you’ll need:

• Arbitrum Ethereum
• MetaMask or Coinbase browser wallet
• Chrome browser
• Assets on one of the currently-supported networks (below)
• Two or more collaborators in the organisation </aside>

🖋️ How to Authenticate

The current version of Salt ****supports using a MetaMask or Coinbase wallet as a browser extension. Using other wallet extensions may not work, or cause errors.

It is not compatible with any hardware wallets, including those connected via MetaMask or Coinbase.

🧂Connect to Salt

Salt uses Arbitrum as its orchestration network, which is how MPC participants communicate. The smart contracts that coordinate the account signing are deployed there.

Before starting, prep the following:

1. Your wallet will need to be set up to connect to Arbitrum.
2. You will need ETH to pay gas fees on Arbitrum. You can bridge ETH from Ethereum to Arbitrum using Arbitrum's bridge.

Then, to connect:

1. Allow your digital assets wallet to connect to Salt, on the Arbitrum network.
2. Click on Connect on the Salt home screen. Sign to authenticate yourself.
3. If you’re connecting for the first time, set up your Organisation by following the set-up steps on screen.
